New development orders will come into force in England from 15th April 2015:
- The Town and Country Planning Development Management Procedure (England) Order 2015 replaces the Town and Country Planning Development Management Procedure (England) Order 2010
- The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 replaces the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995
There are a number of substantive and procedural changes, as well as considerable reordering and renumbering of the provisions. In particular the Parts in the General Permitted Development Order have been reduced from 43 to 19.
Richard Harwood QC has prepared tables comparing the two new orders with their predecessors, allowing an easy conversion between the old and the new numbering.
Both orders will be discussed in Richard’s book Planning Permission which is to be published later this year. Richard is also the author of Planning Enforcement which is also published by Bloomsbury Professional.
