Last Thursday evening saw the launch party for the fourth edition of The Law of Limited Liability Partnerships, held at Serle Court. Authors John Machell QC and John Whittaker, along with many of the contributors from inside and outside of chambers, celebrated another very successful edition of this authoritative text over champagne and canapés.
Nearly fifteen years after the first edition published, just after the legislation came in to force, The Law of Limited Liability Partnerships remains the leading text on this alternative corporate legal structure. In the time since the Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2000 was enacted, LLPs have become hugely common in UK business, both local and international.
The fully updated new edition is the product of several months of hard work and collaboration from the two editors and twelve specialist contributors, the younger of whom John Machell referred to as ‘the great and good of the future’. It was commented on and marvelled at many times throughout the evening of the launch that the book is one of very few written by barristers to have all come together so smoothly and so on time – something we at Bloomsbury Professional are very impressed by and grateful for!
